What is your health story?
I was that overweight nerdy kid in school. In college, I started running to lose weight and get active. I started racing 5ks and from there I was addicted to running and challenging myself and pushing my body a little harder and farther.

What is your favorite Health Warrior Bar?
It’s so hard to pick a favorite Health Warrior Bar, they’re all so great! But I do consume a lot of the Peanut Butter Cacao Superfood Protein Bars and the Chocolate Peanut Butter Chia Bars.

When do you find yourself reaching for one?
I use Chia Bars as fuel during a run or long workout. Afterwards I go for a Health Warrior Superfood Protein Bar.

How did you get introduced to Health Warrior?
I first found out about Health Warrior bars when a fellow runner had me try one. I enjoyed it and now I share the Health Warrior love the same way, giving friends a bar to try. It’s a Health Warrior pay it forward!

How often do you workout and what do you do?
I typically run at least 3-4 days a week when training and cross train with cycling. But I’m always trying a new challenge that pushes me to workout in different ways. For example, I recently fell in love with Obstacle Course Racing (OCR). It forced me to work on upper body strength and new techniques. Now I’ve incorporated it into my racing schedule and am totally addicted.

What’s your biggest workout tip?
Routine is necessary, but don’t forget to change it up! We tend to be creatures of habit, but trying something new keeps you motivated and excited to workout. Even if it’s just a new running route, a new gym class, working out with a new group, etc.

Who do you look for for motivation?
I look for motivation from others in my local fitness community, as well as everyone I meet in the online fitness community. I lean on them when I need motivation or advice. The support from your local fitness community or online is fantastic and anyone can tap into it!

What is your go-to quick meal?
For breakfast before a long run- overnight oats. For a quick meal I’m addicted to peanut butter and banana sandwiches.

When do you feel most like a warrior?
Whenever I push myself just a little harder or farther. That might just be a longer distance, or a really tough workout. When I look back at the miles or the workout and think “wow, that was rough”, I smile because I feel like a bad@$$ warrior ready to tackle the next adventure.

What do you do for work?
I work for the viral video TV show, RightThisMinute. It’s tons of fun. I’m also a cycling instructor at CycleBar.

What’s the coolest thing about you?
Hmmm… I guess that I’m super friendly. I love meeting new people and making new friends.

Current workout pump up jam?
“Walk on Water” Thirty Seconds to Mars.

What’s in your Netflix/Hulu que?
Right now I’m watching “Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency” and I’m excited for the new show “The Gifted” coming out.. (I’m an X-men/Marvel fan!)

What are your goals for the next year?
I just signed up for my first ultra marathon–The Black Canyon Ultras 60k. After that, I’d like to run (and possibly compete) in a few other OCR events. I’m also shooting for a new PR in a marathon later next year.

If you were a combination of 3 fictional characters, who would they be?
J.D from Scrubs, Indiana Jones, and Peter Quill (Star-Lord) from Guardians of the Galaxy

If you could give one piece of advice for anyone aiming to be more healthy, what would it be?
It takes time and dedication. No one gets fit, stronger, or faster in a day. Set small, attainable goals along the way and you will get there! Stay positive.
